OASA Elimination tournaments this weekend

Two tournaments this weekend, June 28-30, for young fastballers hoping to make it to the Canadians for their respective age groups.

Midget (U18) Elimination Tournament in Napanee
Softball Napanee is hosting the Midget Elimination Tournament with 12 teams attending. Napanee Express are the host team, and the Domville Aces, who played at the Williamsburg Tournament earlier this season are an eastern Ontario team in attendance. The draw has Napanee and Domville playing in the 6pm game tonight. The finals are at 1pm on Sunday with the "if" game at 3pm. The winners (plus probably a couple of other Ontario teams) will advance to the Canadians in St-Leonard d'Aston, QC in mid-August. The Quebec Midget host team was also at the Williamsburg Tournament in May.

Junior (U21) Elimination Tournament in Owen Sound
The Junior elims will be hosted in Owen Sound. Owen Sound will also be the location for the Canadians from August 5-11, with nine teams participating, including four from Ontario with the host team the Keady Jets guaranteed a spot. The Napanee Express will be participating in this tournament - they were at the Williamsburg Tournament in May and will be at the Gil Read in Carp in July. There aren't any eastern Ontario teams entered, but Andy Barber of West Carleton Electric will be playing with the Wiarton Red Devils who are a likely contender to make it to the top four. The draw has games starting tonight at 5pm with the final at 2pm and "if" game at 4pm.
