West Carleton over Blitz 5-1

The West Carleton Electric earned a 5-1 win over Manotick Taylor's Blitz on Tuesday in GOFL play on a muggy and buggy night in Fitzroy Harbour.

Jeff Barber earned the pitching win, while Shannon Borho took the loss.

The home team started off with two runs in the bottom of the first inning. Neil Murphy singled and was brought in on a Jeff Barber home run to centre.

Two runs were added to the lead in the third. Jeff Barber singled and scored on Derek Barber's triple off the grey monster in right field. Derek scored on Jeff Cavanagh's sac fly to centre after a great at bat fouling off several pitches.

Jeff Barber added a monster solo shot to centre in the fight to cap the 'Trics scoring.

The sole Blitz run came on a Derek Bergeron homer in the sixth.

Jeff Barber's complete game three-hitter, plus a monster night at the plate earned him the Caveman's Choice as player of the game.
