Stittsville evens series with Carp at 2 - DETAILS

Stittsville 56ers came up with a 7-3 win in Carp last night to even their Greater Ottawa Fastball League series with Carp I4C Victory at two games apiece.

Darren Featherstone had the win, while Neil Cooke took the loss with relief from Andrew Fortier and Mike Money.

The 56ers came out swinging and put four on the board in the top of the first.  Darren Featherstone lead things off with a double and later scored on Scott Jessiman’s 2 run homerun.  Dan Jessiman and Tyler Nystedt then singled and both later scored on the same wild pitch giving the 56ers a 4-0 lead.

In the top of the third the Jessiman brothers singled setting the table for Scott Parsons who hit a 3 run shot putting the 56ers up 7-0.  Carp would push back in the bottom half with a walk to Curtis Scurr and singles to Shawn Simzer and Eric Colvin loading the bases.  A walk would later score Simzer and Stittsville got out of the inning giving up just 1 run.

Move to the bottom of the 6th and singles from Bobby-Jack Hart, Joe Murray, and Kevin McGuire would score another run for Carp narrowing the margin to 7-2.

In the bottom of the 7th Simzer would single for Carp and Colvin would then reach first on a fielder’s choice. Al Read then doubled to score one more but that would be all as the 56ers close out the game to force the deciding game five  in Carp on Thursday at 8:30pm.
