Micksburg beats Quyon 8-1 - NOW WITH DETAILS

The Micksburg Twins put on a show for the local cable TV station as they won 8-1 over Quyon Flyers in Greater Ottawa Fastball League play on Wednesday night in the 'Burg.

Corey Costello earned the win, striking out 14 over the five-inning run rule game. He also hit two home runs. Matt Greer took the loss for the Flyers.

On Wednesday night, Quyon travelled up to Micksburg to play in front of the cameras of Cogeco.

Micksburg got out to a early one run lead in the bottom of one with Corey Costello hitting a two out solo home run deep into the bush over the left field fence.

The Twins added to the lead in the second as Mike Moss started things off with a single and then advanced all way to third on a bunt single by Riley Hennessy fallowed by error. Matt Mcyntre then hit a double up the middle scoring both runners. With two out Jamey Mick hit a single and Corey followed up with his second home run of the night to make the score 6-0.

The Flyers got on the board in the 3rd as Dave Hobbs hit a single and then scored on a Larframboise triple. 

The Twins added two more runs in the forth to make the score 8-1. The Flyers couldn't answer back to end the game after 5 innings run rule.

Player of the game with a 3 hit 14 k shutout and 3 homerun 3 RBI night is Corey Costello.
