Micksburg gets by Quyon 1-0

The TV cameras were back in the Valley on Wednesday night as Cogeco broadcasted another great game. The low scoring game saw the home team, Micksburg Twins, come out on top 1-0 over the Quyon Flyers.

Both teams struggled to get hits. The pitchers pounded the zone and hit their spots and made it tough for the teams to muster up offense. Graham struck out 5 of the first 6 batters faced to set the tone. Matt Greer would finally solve him with a double in the third before being stranded.

Jamey Mick picked the Twins up as he often does, hitting a one out single before moving to second on Graham’s single. Mick hustled home to score off Chad Costello’s single in the bottom of five. That would prove to be all with the thanks to Kurt Leavitt, who caught a frozen rope liner to short before doubling up the runner at first in the top of sixth to save Graham’s shut out.

Next games for the Twins is Wednesday July 6th at the Grove in Stittsville against the 56ers, while the Flyers are right back at it tonight against Fitzroy for their Canada Day game.
