Micksburg beats WC 9-1
The Micksburg Twins beat West Carleton Electric 9-1 in a five inning game in Greater Ottawa Fastball League action on Friday night in the 'Burg.
Joran Graham had the win with 9Ks in five innings of work while Steve Cavanagh took the loss.
After a scoreless first, the Twins got on the board with two runs in the second. Quinton Rook singled to start the inning, stole second and moved to third on the overthrow. He was brought home on a single by Connor Moss. Moss also stole second, and moved to third on a wild pitch. He was brought home on a sacrifice fly by Paul Griffith.
In the third, Graham singled, moved to third on a single by Corey Costello and scored on a sacrifice fly by Chad Costello. After a pair of walks to load the bases, a ground out resulted in an out at the plate. However, the next grounder resulted in a run scoring, and a two RBI single by Kurt Levet made it 6-0 after three innings.
West Carleton got on the board in the fourth. Neil Murphy singled, took second on a wild pitch and moved to third on a misplayed grounder that put Mike Cavanagh on base. Charlie Ross's fielder's choice scored Murph.
The Twins put the mercy in effect in the fourth on a three run homer by Connor Moss, which scored Chad Costello and Quinton Rook who had both singled.
