GOFL regular season wraps up with Aces, Twins wins
The Greater Ottawa Fastball League regular season wrapped up Thursday night in Carp with a doubleheader.
The only run of the game was scored by Aces' catcher Brad Pender. He walked, stole second, and scored when a throw back to the pitcher from the catcher sailed overhead into centrefield.
The first game was a close one with Kars Aces getting by the Ottawa Valley As 1-0. Brad Porter earned the win, allowing only two hits, and Nick Ellis finished the game by getting the final batter out. Ben Broek was the hard luck loser - despite the loss, he threw a no-hitter.

The late game had Micksburg Twins prevailing 8-2 over the Orleans Rebels. Joran Graham earned the win, throwing a two hitter and striking out 20, while Jeff Barber was tagged with the loss.
Matt Healey had a homer for Orleans, while Matt McIntyre hit his team leading second of the season, a two run shot for the Twins.
The Rebels also turned a "6-6-3" triple play in this game.
With the season now complete, the GOFL playoff bracket begins next week.
