Orleans beats WC

The Orleans Rebels edged West Carleton Electric 10-8 in Greater Ottawa Fastball League action on Tuesday in Fitzroy Harbour.

Derek Barber is the least frequently pitching Barber brother, but he had the win for Orleans, while younger brother Jeff threw in relief. Gabe Brown took the loss for WC.

The Rebels had two big innings, scoring five in the seconed and four in the fifth. Jeff and Andy Barber each had homers for the Rebels, while Matt Healey was 5 for 5 with 2 RBIs for the visitors. Seventeen year old Conner Hopper hit his first career GOFL homer for Fitzroy, while Jeff Campbell and Chris Costello also hit one out.

There was supposed to be an additional early game in Fitzroy on Tuesday, but Ottawa Valley As were unable to field a team and forfeited the game.
