Bowman hits four homers in two games, Orleans now 4-2 at Midget Nats

Orleans split the day on Wednesday losing 8-4 to the Calgary Rockies in the morning and winning 10-0 over the Selkirk (Ontario) Combines in the afternoon.

In the first game Chad Hargrove gave up 5 runs. pitching into the 4th inning, and took his first loss of the tournament. The Rockies scored 8 runs on 5 hits that included a grand slam home run and a 2 run triple. The Rebels did not take advantage of a great hitting performance by Matt Bowman who went 3 for 3 with 3 solo home runs.

In the second game Orleans bounced back against Selkirk. Chad Hargrove picked up his 4th win of the tournament with 8 strikeouts over 5 innings. Jordan Adams and Brian Friesen both went 2-3, and Matt Bowman hit a grand slam home run to lead the offence. Kurtis Summers and Chad Hargrove also had solo shots.

Orleans sits at 4-2 after 6 games. Orleans plays the Scarborough Royals and the Napanee Express on Thursday to complete round-robin play.
