Micksburg defeats the Blitz 3-1

Micksburg Twins beat the Manotick Taylor's Blitz 3-1 in Carp on Thursday night.  Joran Graham got the win and Tony Riches took the loss with relief from Gord Flannery.

Manotick got on the board first.  Jamie Blakely led off the game with a walk, advanced to second on a wild pitch and scored on an RBI single by Jon Ferguson. 

Micksburg left two on base in the bottom of the first. 

It was a pitchers duel with Manotick going three up and three down for the rest of the game.  Riches also pitched well allowing just two hits until the fifth inning.

In the fifth inning, Paul Griffith hit a one out single for Micksburg.  Then Mike Moss walked.  After a sacrifice bunt, Jamey Mick hit a hanging changeup for a 2 RBI single.  He later scored on an RBI single by Kerr Childerhose.  That put Micksburg up 3-1.  Graham coasted to the win from there.

Jamey Mick earns the Caveman's Choice as Player of the Game honours for his two RBIs and run scored.
