Wednesday night in the GOFL

Despite the stormy weather in the area, all three games in the GOFL were played Wednesday night and all were close ones. More info to follow on each.

Barrhaven Broadway Blues 5 Quyon Flyers 4
The Blues prevailed 5-4 in the first of two in Manotick, defeating the Flyers. Paul Ceppi had the win for Barrhaven while Earl Kearns took the loss with relief from Matt Greer.

Quyon Flyers 8 Manotick Taylor's Blitz 5
Quyon won the second game in Manotick, despite blowing a five run lead. With the Flyers up 5-0 in the sixth, the Blitz tied it at 5. But Quyon scored three in the seventh and held on for the win. Matt Greer had the win on the slab, while Shannon Borho took the loss in relief of Jamie Blakely.

Kars Aces 1 Stittsville 56ers 1
The Aces and 56ers had another classic in the Grove, with this one ending in a tie. Cory Alkerton threw a three-hitter allowing only one walk for Kars, while Darren Featherstone of Stittsville also threw a three-hitter, walking two. Stittsville scored the tying run with two out in the bottom of the seventh.
