GOFL playoff scenarios

The standings are still tight, but a little bit clearer after the Tuesday night games in the Greater Ottawa Fastball League.

Current standings (W-L-T)
1. Quyon Flyers 10-6-1 = 21 pts (1 game remaining vs Stittsville)
2. Stittsville 56ers 8-5-4 = 20 pts (1 game remaining vs Quyon)
3. West Carleton Electric 9-8-1 = 19 pts (season complete)
4. Kanata Pirates 8-7-1 = 17 pts (2 games remaining vs I4C, Kars)
5. Micksburg Twins 7-9-1 = 15 pts (1 game remaining vs Kars)
6. Kars Aces 7-9-0 = 14 pts (2 games remaining vs Kanata, Micksburg)
7. I4C Victory 6-11-0 = 12 pts (1 game remaining vs Kanata)

  • Quyon can clinch first place with a win or tie against Stittsville in their game at the Grove on Wednesday night. Flyers can finish no worse than second as they swept their season series with Kanata.
  • Stittsville can finish first with a win in their final game against Quyon. They will end up no lower than third.
  • West Carleton's season is complete. Best case for them is a third place finish, worst case is fourth place.
  • Kanata has a double header on Wednesday - if they get fewer than two points in those games, they will finish fourth. If they get two points and tie in the standings with West Carleton, they will take third on head to head record. The Pirates could finish as high as second, but can't finish first as they lost the season series with Quyon.
  • Micksburg will finish fifth or sixth. They can't finish higher than fifth as they lost their season series with Kanata and only have a single game left. A win or tie in their final game vs Kars guarantees them fifth, a loss puts them in sixth.
  • I4C Victory will finish either sixth or seventh. If they win and Kars loses, they will take sixth based on the season series. Otherwise, they finish seventh.
