GOFL regular season ends with Micksburg winning 5-1 over Kars - NOW WITH DETAILS
The Greater Ottawa Fastball League season wrapped up on Thursday night with the Kars Aces losing to the Micksburg Twins 5-1. Corey Costello had the win for the home team while Cory Alkerton was tagged with the loss. Costello had a home run for Micksburg as did Kristian Knapp of the Aces.

Kars made the trip up to Micksburg for a battle for fifth place. Corey Costello got the ball for the Twins and Cory Alkerton countered for Kars.
The game went scoreless until the bottom of the third as Matt McIntyre drew a one out walk then stole second. Kyle Jackson then ripped a double over the first base bag scoring McIntyre from second.
Kars went scoreless in the fourth and fifth.
The Twins added some insurance runs in the fifth as Riley Hennessy drew a one out walk then stole second. McIntyre then hit a hard single up the middle, then stole second putting runners on second and third. Paul Griffith hit a single to right scoring both runners. Then with two out Corey Costello hit a two-run homer deep into the wood in left centre making the score 5-0 for Micksburg.
Kars were able to get on the board as Kristian Knapp hit a line drive home run to centre. That's all Kars were able to get off of Costello as Micksburg won 5-1 locking up the fifth position in the GOFL.
