Stittsville over Quyon 3-1

On Thursday night the Stittsville 56ers took the boat over to Quyon to decide the season series.  Darren Featherstone got the ball for the 56ers while Quyon countered with Trevor Lahey.

In the bottom of the first, Shawn Laframboise hit a one out double off the fence in right field and advanced to 3rd on a passed ball.  Matt Greer drew a walk to put runners on the corners.  Joe McCleary’s hard line drive to centre field was caught and Greer was doubled up at 1st to end the inning.

The 56ers got on the board first with a run in the 2nd inning.  With one out, Trevor Scott reached first on an infield single.  After a ground out, Darren Ladouceur and Tim Maisonneuve drew walks to load the bases for Ryan Bond.  Bond’s second single of the night to centre field scored Scott from third, however Ladouceur was thrown out at the plate by Dennis McCleary.

The game remained tied at 1 until the top of the 5th.  Featherstone reached on a one-out infield single and scored on Scott Jessiman’s line drive homerun to right field to make it 3-1 for the visitors.

Featherstone scattered 3 hits over the final 5 innings to seal the win for the 56ers.
