U12 'Trics win silver at OASA qualifier
The West Carleton Electric U12 boys team finished second of nine teams at the Ontario Amateur Softball Association East Qualifier in Cobourg this weekend.
The mini 'Trics opened things up with a big 10-5 win over the Springbrook Royals. They then lost to the Napanee Express 15-5, but rebounded with an 18-5 victory over the Oshawa Double Bs.
On to Sunday, West Carleton defeated Springbrook again, this time 12-6. A 12-4 win over the Bracebridge Bandits put the Electric in the final, once again facing Napanee. The WC team got out to a 6-2 lead in the fourth, but couldn't hold on had to settle for silver, losing 11-7.
The second place finish means that West Carleton will be in the Provincial A division in Ponsonby on the August 11-12 weekend.
