Kars win 7-0 over WC Electric

The Kars Aces won 7-0 in six innings over West Carleton Electric in the second game of the Manotick doubleheader on Wednesday night.

Brad Porter earned the shutout, while Jeff Barber took the loss.

The Electric had men on second and third in the top of the first, but a strike out and nice catch in centre field by Cory Morrison ended the threat.

Cory Alkerton hit a two run shot in the bottom of the first to score Nick Ellis who had singled.

Ellis scored again in the fourth when he rounded the bases after his high fly ball to left dropped in when the outfield slipped and fell. Morrison also scored in the fourth after he singled and Chad Milne hit a triple.

Three runs in the bottom of the sixth ended the game. Milne and Matt Pollard both singled, advanced on a wild pitch and scored on Lukas Kamps single. Kamps later scored on an error to end the game at 7-0.

The Electric had a triple by Derek Barber in the fifth and Jeff Cavanagh in the sixth but couldn't cash in a run.

Porter earns Caveman's Choice by tossing the shutout and also stroking a single at the plate.
