Stittsville at Micksburg tonight to be broadcast by Cogeco TV

info from Jamie Bramburger

At this point, Cogeco-Pembroke is planning to broadcast three Micksburg games in the Greater Ottawa Fastball League. The dates includes tonight's game (vs Stittsville 56ers) as well as July 23rd and 31st.  If all goes well, Cogeco hopes to also pick up some Micksburg playoff games.

The games cannot be broadcast live because there is no live feed at the ball park. This means they will be played back in the Pembroke-Petawawa-Deep River areas to Cogeco subscribers several times in the days following the game.

Cogeco does not put the entire broadcast on its web site, but normally puts together a hi-light package, which we will feature on the blog.

The broadcast team will be Jamie Bramburger on play by play and Dwight Mick, who will handle colour commentary.

Dwight played fastball for more than 25 years, competing at a very high level in senior ball in the Ottawa area, and also pitching for Micksburg for many years.  He knows the game very well and will do a great job as an analyst.

Jamie have been involved with Cogeco for the past 25 years as the play-by-play announcer for the Pembroke Lumber Kings Junior A team. He also does the play-by-play for Fellowes High school football games, and do a variety of other shows for Cogeco.  Jamie also played fastball for a number of years, and umpired in the former Upper Ottawa Valley Men’s Fastball League for about 12 years, before retiring from umpiring about 15 years ago.

The GOFL is looking forward to a great partnership with Cogeco!
