Ottawa Broker4Tickets 3 Shakespeare Falcons 2
Broker was down 1-0 after five and half until Joran Graham launched a three run bomb to put them in the lead. Shakespeare got one in the top of seven, but Broker held on for the win. Neil Cooke spread out eight hits in earning the win and Fred Follings only allowed five hits in taking the loss. Broker4Tickets plays Circle Tap (WI) today (Sunday) at 3 pm.
Napanee Merchants Express 2 Westerville (OH) Capitals 1
Jamie Purdon's 2RBI double for Napanee was the difference. Ian Wallwork had the win throwing a two hitter. Chris van Volkenberg was the hard luck loser, with the double the only hit he allowed along with three walks. Napanee plays Toronto Gators tonight (Sunday) at 6:30 pm.
Elmira Expos 10 Kanata Storm 2
The game was tied at 2-2 after four innings as Nick Ellis hit a two run shot for the Storm. However, a couple of misplayed bunts followed by timely hits put Elmira up 4-2 in the fifth. The game got put away with a six run sixth inning for the Expos. Darren Featherstone took the loss and had relief from Bill Carson. Casey Halstead was the winning pitcher. Kanata plays the loser of the Napanee / Toronto game at noon on Monday.
