Vars Aces win the 2025 Carp Shootout
The Vars Aces won the 2025 Carp Shootout tournament on Sunday, finishing at the top of the six-team event, defeating the Micksburg Twins in the final. Ottawa Valley Grain finished third, East Hants, NS Mastodons finished fourth. West Carleton Electric U20 and Southeastern Ontario Screaming Eagles also participated in the tournament.

The semi-final game on Sunday morning saw the Micksburg Twins defeat the Ottawa Valley Grain team 8-4. Joran Graham was the winning pitcher and. Alex Baillargeon took the loss.
Graham had a solo homer, and Matt McIntyre (2), Nic McGrayne, Scott Conroy, and Drew Hathway also had RBIs for the Twins. Dylan Rorwick, Jack Becker, Trevor Beaulieu drove in runs for the Grainers.

The Aces were waiting in the final having won the first vs first game on Saturday evening over the Grainers. They outlasted the Twins 10-6 in a slugfest to take the title.
Brad Porter was the winning pitcher for the Aces in relief of Andy Barber. Graham took the loss with relief from Hathway.
McGrayne, and Graham homered for the Twins. Brothers Andy Barber and Jeff Barber both homered for Vars.
Andy Barber was named tournament Most Valuable Player.
