ISC World Tournament - Tuesday

A brief summary of eastern Ontario teams at the International Softball Congress World Tournament in Kitchener on Tuesday.

Kitchener Cubs 7 Kanata Storm 1
Scott Wagar got the win for #17 ranked Kitchener and had an inning of relief from Ward Gosse. Darren Featherstone took the loss. Nick Ellis hit a solo shot in the first at bat of the game for Kanata. That 1-0 lead held up for three innings, until the Cubs scored two in the fourth. In the top of the seventh Brandon Parks hit a grand slam for Kitchener to put the game out of reach. Kanata finished the tournament with a 2-2 record.

Tavistock Merchants 5 Ottawa Broker4Tickets 2
In Broker's first game in the ISC II bracket, Chad Fink had the complete game win for Tavistock while Cory Alkerton took the loss with relief from Joran Graham. (Online scoring doesn't reflect the pitching change though.) Steve Savard had a two run homer for Ottawa. This loss moved Broker4Tickets to the bottom of the ISCII bracket.

Broker beat CPI in their late game on Tuesday, with Joran Graham earning the win throwing a one hitter. Broker continues in the ISC II bracket with their next game at noon on Wednesday against the Pusclinch Kodiaks.

Hickson Reds 5 Napanee Merchants Express 3
Napanee also went 1-1 in the ISC II bracket on Tuesday. They play Wednesday at noon against the Sweaburg Crush.
