GeeGees shortstop selected in pro baseball draft
The University of Ottawa Gee-Gees women's softball team's shortstop Ela Day-Bedard was selected in the third round by San Francisco in the first ever Women’s Professional Baseball League draft this week.
She was selected #41 overall and is the only drafted athlete playing softball at a Canadian school. Day-Bedard is also on the Canadian Senior Women’s National baseball team, was a 2025 Ontario University Softball All-Star and hit .554 for uOttawa this past season.
