Softball Ontario Webinar Series

Jeff Ellsworth led off the Softball Ontario Webinar series with a massive homerun. His webinar tonight (March 27) on the “Mental Side of Softball” gave coaches in attendance tangible tips they could use at practice on goal-setting, and ways to help athletes focus on the task at hand. Jeff gave examples from his world-class playing career with Team Canada and the Hill United Chiefs and shared the strategies he used to play at the highest level in the world. He has transitioned to coaching and gave practical examples of hand-outs and activities he has used with the Junior Mens National Team and the PEI Canada Games Team.

Be sure to sign in to the next webinar on April 10th. You will hear Ryan Wolfe talk about baserunning. Ryan is one of the best players in the world and before his retirement from elite competition in 2016, Ryan was the longest-serving member of Team Canada. He first joining the Men’s National Team in 2000 and spent 16 years as one of the most successful and feared hitters in the world. Ryan was an exceptional lead-off hitter and many fans tell stories of Ryan leading off games with a hit, followed by two stolen bases. During his tenure on the team, the team won Bronze Medals at the 2009 ISF Men’s World Championships, Silver at the 2002 Pan American Championship, the 2004 ISF World Championship, the 2006 Pan-American Games, and Gold medals at the 2008 Three Nations Challenge, 2015 WSBC World Championship and 2015 Pan-American Games.

Coaches will receive 1 PD point for signing in to each session.  You can register for the full series at the link below.

Please note-

Rep ball is different from the Selects teams.

Selects is not as competitive as Rep, but is designed as stepping stone from House League into a more competitive style.  Players on the Select team play on a House League team as well.  You should expect your child to play one or two nights in House League, and continue to play and practice into the summer with the Selects team.

Rep is a more competitive league.  These players do not play in House League.  You should expect your child to have two practices each week and one or two games. The games will be played in either Montreal or in and around the Ottawa area, which usually fall during the week but may be on the weekend. As well as 3-4 tournaments a year.
