West Carleton wins in Carp (updated)

West Carleton Electric won a frosty game in Carp on Thursday night 7-4 over the Micksburg Twins.

Adam Rueckwald had the complete game win for WC. Noah Fleurie took the loss and had relief from John Enright.

The Trics scored in the first when Conner Hopper's two run homer scored Trevor Barton who had reached on a fielder's choice.

It looked like Micksburg may get a run in the second as Joe Mick singled, moved to second on a passed ball and attempted to score on a Scott Conroy single. However, Finn Barton in right field threw out Mick at home.

The Twins got a run back in the top of the third. Ryan McIntyre led off with a single, stole second and scored on Joran Graham's single.

WC responded to make it 3-1 after three. Trevor Barton reached on a error, took second on a wild pitch, advanced to third on a ground out and scored on a error.

The Electric got another in the fourth. Sean Lecuyer legged out a triple and scored on a double by Finn Barton.

Micksburg tightened the score to 4-3 in the top of the fifth. Jared Steege tripled and scored on a misplayed grounder. Mick, who had reached on a fielder's choice, scored on a Conroy double off the fence.

Fitzroy answered with another in the fifth. Colton Lecuyer singled, stole second, and moved to third on a ground out. The Twins chose to intentionally walk Hopper, and Dylan Rorwick's hard ground out scored Lecuyer.

Two more for WC in the sixth made it 7-3. Sean Lecuyer reached in a misplayed fly ball, but was put out when Finn Barton reached on a fielder's choice. A two out walk put Rueckwald on. Colton Lecuyer single scored Finn Barton and a single by Trevor Barton scored Neil Murphy who was in to run for Rueckwald on the two out pitcher rule.

Micksburg got one back in the seventh. Matt McIntyre singled with one out, advanced on Mick's single and scored on Conroy's RBI single. Two strikeouts ended the threat.
