The Manotick Brewers beat West Carleton Electric 8-7 in Fitzroy Harbour in Greater Ottawa Fastball League play on Thursday night.
Adam Smith earned the win, while Trevor Lahey took the loss and had relief from Cory Baldwin.
Manotick got on the board first when Smith drove in Ty Alexander in the top of the opening frame. The Brewers scored two more in the second when Trevor Beaulieu drove in Ryan Clark and Chris MacFarlane.
WC responded in the second, scoring one on a Jeff Campbell double, and two solo homers in the third from Trevor Barton and Matt Greer.
The Brewers took over the lead in the fifth with a five run inning. Austin Blanchard started the inning with a triple, scored on an Alexander single, and Luc D'Entremont then hit a two run shot. Four consecutive hits from Clark, MacFarlane, Riley Dunbar and Beaulieu plated another two.
The Electric chipped away at the lead. In the fifth, Barton singled and scored on a Greer RBI single. In the sixth, Chris Trafford scored on a "first and third" steal. The seventh saw a rally for WC scoring another two but a nice play by Beaulieu at short on a line drive ended the threat and preserved the win for the visitors.
