The men's fastball game at the Maurice Beauregard Memorial event in Campbell’s Bay, QC was once again a close finish, with the Flyers prevailing 4-3 over the Athletics.
Like previous years, a good crowd was on hand to witness the game which was played in the middle of a community 3-pitch softball tournament.
Adam Reuckwald had the win on the slab, while Marc "Kayser" Lavigne took the loss in relief of Gabe Brown and Daniel Read.
The Athletics opened the scoring in the second. Carter Beauregard singled and ended up scoring on a Kayser double.
The Athletics added two in the third. Bennett Rusenstrom doubled, took third on a wild pitch and scored on Ethan Howard's sacrifice fly. Hunter Beauregard then reached on an error and scored on Read's double.
The veterans on the Flyers side got two back in the sixth. Rueckwald walked, Darryl Crawford singled, followed by an Adam Brown single driving in a run. An RBI ground out by Troy Gravelle scored a second run.
The Flyers come back to win it in the bottom of the seventh. Julien Gagnon walked to lead things off and stole second base. After a flyout, two walks to Jared Murray and Rueckwald loaded the bases. Hometown favourite Crawford's infield single scored Gagnon to tie it, and a single by Adam Brown walked it off as a 4-3 final.

The 20th Annual Molly Sherman Memorial Tournament is being held this weekend in Elkland, Pennsylvania with 10 teams participating, including Kingston Axemen which has several Greater Ottawa Fastball League players on the roster. Also attending are the CPI Bucks from upstate New York who will be appearing at the Carp Shootout in early June.
Below is the bracket, as per the tournament director Jeremy Cook.
Action gets started at 9 a.m. on Saturday morning, with the final scheduled on Sunday at 6 p.m.

West Carleton Electric U20 will be hosting the Southeastern Ontario Screaming Eagles U20 team based out of Sydenham for an exhibition doubleheader in Kinburn on Sunday May 31.
The first game is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. with a second to follow at 1:30 p.m.
The Kinburn diamond has been upgraded recently and a new scoreboard has been installed. The Kinburn Community Association will be offering refreshments with organizations advising that Kinburn is home to the "Dinger Dog".
West Carleton Electric will be the host team at the 2026 Softball Canada U20 Canadian Championship from August 4 to 9 in Carp. The Screaming Eagles will be attempting to qualify for a spot at this event at the Ontario Amateur Softball Association elimination tournament July 3-5 in Drumbo, ON.

The Pontiac Flyers hosted West Carleton Electric U20 in a Greater Ottawa Fastball League exhibition game on Thursday night in Shawville, with the Flyers prevailing 9-1.
Drew Hathway pitched for the home team, while Carter Marshall and Finn Barton threw for WC U20.
The game was tight at 3-1 until the Flyers broke things open in the bottom of the sixth to end the game on the run rule. Hathway and Cade Kuehl had home runs for Pontiac.

The Maurice Beauregard Memorial is back for the fourth time. This year's fastball game is Saturday May 23rd at 6 p.m., an exhibition match in the midde of the annual 3-pitch ball tournament. There will be refreshments available at the bar onsite.
This annual tournament and fastball game celebrates Maurice’s legacy and raises money for the Maurice Beauregard
Community and Leadership awards given to three high school graduates in the
Pontiac region, and the Maurice Beauregard Park.
The tournament, and
the exhibition fastball game, will be held in Campbell’s Bay at the Maurice
Beauregard Park (2 Second Street, Campbell’s Bay, Quebec, J0X 1K0).

Results from the Wednesday night doubleheader in Manotick.
Game 1 - Vars Aces 2 Los Caballos 2
The Aces and Caballos opened up their season with a 2-2 tie in the early game. Andy Barber tossed a two-hitter for Vars, while Will Lowe pitched for the Los Caballos.
Pedro Lopez hit a home run for Los Caballos, as did Felipe Morales whose HR was inside-the-park.
Cory Morrison was 2 for 3 for the Aces.
Game 2 - Manotick Brewers 13 Pontiac Flyers 4
The late game saw Manotick get by Pontiac 13-4 in five innings. Luc D'Entremont had the win for the Brewers and had relief from Carter Marshall. Matt Greer took the loss for the Flyers.
Tyler Branchaud had a three-run homer for Manotick, while Zack Branchaud was 2 for 3 with a homer and 5 RBIs on the night. Newcomer Kian Poitras was 2 for 3 with a double and hit by pitch for Manotick.

Game 1 The Micksburg Brews defeated the Micksburg Northstars in the opener of the 2026 season by a score of 11-2 on the back of a Riley Henessy grand slam in the 2nd. Mike Moss also went deep for the Brewers in the 3rd.

The Greater Ottawa Fastball League got started on Tuesday night with an exhibition game in Fitzroy Harbour between West Carleton Electric U20 and the West Carleton Electric men's team.
The U20s out-slugged the men's team 16-9. Kaden Fowler and Carter Marshall pitched for the U20s while Adam Rueckwald and Gabe Brown threw for the men's team.
Colton Lecuyer had two homers for the U20s, including a grand slam, and Fowler hit one out as well. Sean Lecuyer, who wasn't coaching the U20s tonight but was playing with the Electric men's team, hit a homer too.

The Osgoode Men’s Fastball League is returning for its second year, again with 4 teams.
Teams are B&T MacFarlane (captain: Trevor Beaulieu), Petersen Farms (Zack Branchaud), Dewan Painting (Jack Dewan), and Metcalfe Clinical (Jack Wallace).
The season begins on May 25th, and games are played every Monday at 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.. at the Kars diamond.
Organizers expect the league to be more competitive this year with some new players in the league (Cory Baldwin, Zack and Tyler Branchaud, and David Bahm from WC).
The league would like to add one more arm if anyone is interested feel free to message Trevor at 613-404-8435.

The 2026 BMFL regular season gets underway on Tuesday, May 12, 2026.
For the 2026 season, five teams will compete for the BMFL championship: Bandits, Blue Jays, Braves, Goodfellows and Rogues. Each team will also play a regular season game against the Lacroix Sports Legends team.
Games will be played at the Blackburn Arena diamond on Tuesdays at 8:00 pm and Thursdays at 7:00 pm and 9:00 pm.

The Micksburg Men's Fastball league will be back this year after a successful return to the valley last season. Games will be held every Tuesday night at 6:45pm and 8:45pm at the Micksburg diamond.
The league expanded this year adding a 5th team and are very excited for another year of fastball in Micksburg as the DC Micksburg Northstars look to repeat as champions.
