The Wednesday night games in the Glen Cairn Men's Fastball League have now determined the playoff finalists.
In the early game, Vance's Service Centre defeated KookiJar 3-0 in the deciding game three of their semi-final. Luc D'Entremont earned the win, tossing a one hitter, while Kyle Olson threw well despite taking the loss.
The late game saw Micksburg / Kool Vent Heat come back from a 4-0 deficit to edge West End Landscapes 6-5 with a walk off run in the bottom of the seventh. John Enright was the winning pitcher and Matt McKay took the loss. Joe Mick hit a homer for Kool Vent and Zach Branchaud hit the walk off RBI.
Vance's will now face Micksburg in the Glen playoff final best of three series.

Blackburn Men's Fastball League playoff results from Sunday: Chips N Dip defeated Los Caballos 10-1 in the undefeated game. Jeff Barber earned the win while Will Lowe took the loss. CnD advance directly to the BMFL Final, while Los Caballos move down to the losers' bracket.
In the losers' bracket site, the Blue Jays eliminated the Bandits with a 4-0. The Jays will now play the Rogues on Tuesday at 7 p.m. Thursday at 8 p.m.

The Greater Ottawa Fastball League East Divison Final deciding game three was postponed on Tuesday night in Manotick due to poor field conditions.

In the Glen Cairn Men's Fastball League playoff semi-final action on Monday night, Kooki Jar beat Vance's Service Centre to force a deciding game three of their semi-final. That will be played Wednesday September 28 at 6:30 p.m.
Micksburg/ Kool Vent Heat beat West End Landscapes 6-4 to take a one game lead in their best of three semi-final. Game two will be Wednesday September 28 at 8:30 p.m.

The Brewers defeated the Royals 4-0 in the Shawville Men's Fastpitch League semi-final on Monday night.
Adam Rueckwald earned the win, allowing only four hits in the shutout. Trevor Lahey took the loss.
Todd Hearty, Adam Brown, and Gabe Brown were all 2 for 3 with an RBI for the Brewers. Hearty also scored from third on a wild pitch.
The Brewers advance to the single game Final on Tuesday at 7 p.m. against the undefeated Athletics.

Word from Blackburn playoffs on Thursday is that the Blue Jays eliminated Goodfellows 8-1 with Andy Barber getting the win and Matt McKay the loss.
As well, the Rogues eliminated the Bytek Braves 12-1. Matt Cox had the win for the Rogues and Nick Bowman took the loss. Jefferson Roman had a grand slam and Jose Sandoval hit a solo shot as well for the Rogues.

The Fitzroy Harbour Men's Fastball League final game three was halted due to rain with Bren Electric leading Baird Carpentry 13-10 in the third inning.
The game will continue 12:30 p.m. on Sunday and the Harbour Ball champion will be crowned.

The best of three semi-final series are set for the Glen Cairn Men's Fastball League playoffs.
In Wednesday night action, Vance's Service Centre defeated Kooki Jar 8-7 to win their first game of their series.
Also Wednesday night, Micksburg / Kool Vent Heat beat Upper Canada Elevators 9-0 to sweep their long delayed quarter-final series. They will now play West End Landscapes in the other semi-final.
Playoffs in the Glen resume on Monday night at the A.Y. Jackson diamond in Kanata.

The Fitzroy Harbour Men's Fastball League best-of-three playoff final series is now tied at one game each following a 13-10 victory by Bren Electric over Baird Carpentry last night. Adam Rueckwald and Mitch Taylor pitched for Bren while Rory Burns and Ryland Hill threw for Baird.
Ryan Conners had six RBIs for Bren, including a three run homer. John Sullivan had four RBIs for Baird.
Immediately following game two, the third and final deciding game was started. It was halted when lightning started getting close to the diamond, just before a downpour of hard rain and hail. At the time the game was suspended, Bren was leading by a score of 13-10, the same score the previous game ended at; however, this game was only in the bottom of the third.
In game three (so far), Rueckwald and Conners hit homers for the Electricians, while sponsor Dave Baird hit one out for the Carpenters.
The date for the continuation of game three is being determined.

The Athletics defeated the Brewers 6-0 in Shawville Men's Fastpitch League playoffs last night to advance to the final game, scheduled for Tuesday September 27 at 7 p.m. Matt Greer earned the win, and had three hits for the Athletics. Adam Reuckwald took the loss. Ron Laronde had two hits for the Brewers.
The Brewers will play the Royals on Monday September 26 at 7 p.m. in the semi-final game to see which team advances to the Final.

In Blackburn Men's Fastball League playoffs on Tuesday night, the continuation of the suspended Game #3 resulted in Chips N Dip beating the Blue Jays 2-1 in 10 innings.
Chips N Dip then defeated the Bytek Braves 5-0 immediately afterward to advance to the undefeated game against Los Caballos at 6 p.m. on Sunday September 25.
Next up on the BMFL playoff schedule are two games in the losers' bracket on Thursday September 23. The Blue Jays will play Goodfellows at 7 p.m. with the loser eliminated and the winner to play the Bandits on Sunday September 25 at 8 p.m. At 9 p.m. on Thursday, the Bytek Braves play the Rogues.

The playoffs for the Blackburn Men's Fastball League will continue on Sunday evening. The seven team league is doing a double-knockout bracket for their championship.
In the first round of games on Sunday September 11, the Bandits (#5) beat the Rogues (#4) 10-5 with Max Lalonde getting the win with relief from Pierre Lalonde and Ty Alexander, and Derrick Bulley taking the loss with relief from Matt Cox. The Braves (#7) upset Goodfellows (#2) by a score of 5-3, with Nick Bowman getting the win and Matt McKay taking the loss.
The other first round game on Thursday September 15 had the Chips N Dip (#3) face off against the Blue Jays (#6) - that game was halted after seven innings tied 1-1 when the lights went off. Jeff Barber was pitching for CnD while Andy Barber had the ball for the Jays. This game will re-start from where they left off on Sunday at 5 p.m. UPDATE: this restart game are now being played on Tuesday September 20 due to the weather on the weekend.
Los Caballos were the #1 seed and got the bye to the second round, where they defeated the Bandits 12-1 on Thursday September 15 to advance to the undefeated game, scheduled for Thursday September 22 at 7 p.m. UPDATE: now Sunday September 25 at 6 p.m.
Whatever team ends up winning the Chips N Dip vs Blue Jays game will play the Braves on Sunday September 18 at 6 p.m. and the loser will play Goodfellows at 8 p.m. that night. UPDATE: these games are now being played on Tuesday September 20 due to the weather on the weekend.

The playoffs for the Shawville Men's Fastpitch League continue tonight (Tuesday) with the Brewers facing the Athletics to determine which team advances directly to the final. First pitch is at 7 p.m. The Brewers will be without key teammate Shawn "Moe" Laframboise as he and his wife Meaghan have welcomed newborn son Liam into the world this week.
The loser of tonight's game will play the Royals in the semi-final. The Twins have already been eliminated from the playoffs.

In Ashton Men's Fastball on Thursday night, the Whitewater Brewers claimed the "B" championship trophy with a walk-off 4-3 win over the As. A base hit in the bottom of the 7th inning drove in a runner from 3rd to end the game. Cory Baldwin & Kevin Daize did the pitching for the Brewers.

The playoffs continue in the Glen Cairn Men's Fastball League and five teams remain.
Kooki Jar and Vance's Service Centre both win their quarter-finals series two games straight. They will face off in the semi-finals with Game 1 of the best of three on Monday September 19 at 6:30 p.m.
The Micksburg / Kool Vent Heat vs. Upper Canada Elevators quarter-final has been plagued by rain outs. Micksburg leads 1-0, with Game 2 scheduled Monday at 8:30.
Wednesday September 21 at 7:30 will be Game 3 if necessary. If Micksburg wins, then the semi-final series with West End Landscapes will begin then. WEL finished first in the Glen regular season and got a bye to the semis.

The Kars Aces held on for a 4-3 win over the Manotick Brewers in game two of the Greater Ottawa Fastball League East division final to tie the series at a game apiece on Wednesday night in Manotick.
Brad Porter earned the win for Kars, while Luc D'Entremont took the loss for Manotick.
Kars got all four of their runs in the second inning with two outs. Cory Morrison had an RBI double and Brad Pender a three run homer for the Aces.
The Brewers got on the board in the top of the fifth on a two run homer by Curtis Scurr.
Manotick added a run in the top of the seventh on Riley Dunbar RBI sacrifice fly, but Kars held on for the one run victory.
Due to player availability issues, it appears that game three of the series will not be played until Tuesday September 27.

The Micksburg Twins won 3-2 over the Quyon Flyers in nine innings in Shawville on Wednesday night to sweep the Greater Ottawa Fastball League West Division series in two games and advance to the final.
Joran Graham earned the win, throwing a no hitter. Matt Greer threw well but took the loss.
The Twins scored two in the first inning when Scott Conroy's double drove in Matt McIntyre and Graham.
The Flyers evened things up in the fifth on two bases loaded walks.
In the top of the ninth, Joe Mick's double scored Conroy to put Micksburg up 3-2. When Quyon couldn't score in the bottom, the Twins won the game and the series.
Micksburg will await the winner of the GOFL East division series.

Baird Carpentry won game one of the Fitzroy Harbour Men's Fastball League final best of three series with a 3-1 victory over Bren Electric on Wednesday night. It was a pitchers' duel that only took an hour and twenty four minutes.
Bren scored one in the bottom of the first but that was it for them. Baird scored three runs in the top of the third and that was enough for the win. Baird captain and second baseman John Sullivan made a diving stab on a ground ball up the middle which saved a run in the bottom of the third.
Rory Burns started for the Carpenters while Ryland Hill closed the door with four shutout innings. Adam Rueckwald and Mitch Taylor threw for the Electricians.
Game 2 will be scheduled next week, date to be confirmed.

The playoff bracket for the four-team Shawville Men's Fastpitch League continues on Monday night at the Shawville R.A.
In the undefeated game at 7 p.m., the Bristolview Enterprises Athletics will play the Trudeau Collision Brewers to see which team goes directly to the final. UPDATE - this game is being postponed.
The late game will see Young's Appliance Royals play the Tubman Autobody Twins with the winning team advancing in the bracket, and the losing team eliminated from the playoffs.

In Ashton Men's Fastball League playoffs, the NAPA Shockers scored 7 in the second inning and held off the Farmers for a 12-2 win to take the "A" final in two games.
Trevor Wood had the pitching win with three shutout innings of relief from Chris Parish.
In the "B" Final, the A's scored 3 in the bottom of the 7th to earn a 4-3 walk-off win and tie their "B" final series with the Brewers at one game apiece. The deciding game 3 is next Thursday.

Playoffs for the seven-team Blackburn Men's Fastball League will be a double knockout bracket format.
The first two games of the bracket will be played tonight at the Blackburn Arena diamond.
Los Caballos were the top finishing team in regular season play, just edging out Goodfellows (second) and Chips N Dip (third) for the first seed.

The Micksburg Twins won the first game of the best of three Greater Ottawa Fastball League west division final by a score of 9-1 over the Quyon Flyers on Thursday night in the 'Burg.
Joran Graham was the winning pitcher, allowing only two hits in five innings of work. Graham also hit a homer. Trevor Lahey took the loss.
They Flyers took an early lead in top of the first when Matt Greer's RBI single drove in Lane McMurtry who had reached on a dropped third strike and stole second.
The Twins responded immediately in their half of the first. Andy McIntyre tripled and scored on Matt McIntyre's single. A walk to Graham put runners on first and second. When there was a wild pitch, both runners attempted to advance. Quyon got Graham in a run down, but he evaded the tag, M. McIntrye scored, and Graham was safe at second. When Scott Conroy singled, Graham went to third, and he eventually scored on a Jared Steege sacrifice play to left field. Micksburg was up 3-1 after one complete.
The bottom of the third saw the home team add three runs. Matt McIntyre singled, then scored on Graham's two run homer. Conroy singled, advanced to second on an error, took third on a ground out, and scored on Quentin Rook's RBI single to make it 6-1.
Micksburg put the run rule in effect in the bottom of the fourth. John Enright singled, then Andy McIntrye hit a ground rule double. Matt McIntyre doubled to drive in two runs. After the Flyer chose to intentionally walk Graham, and error allowed McIntyre to score to make it 9-1.
The Flyers got an infield hit from Dennis McCleary in the bottom of the fifth, but they didn't score any runs and the game ended by the run rule.

The North Leeds Men's Fastball League playoff final series will go to a third and deciding game on Tuesday night in Lyn at 8:15 p.m.
Tonight in North Augusta, the home town Trappers won 11-4 over the visiting Lyn Lightning.

The first games in each of the best of three quarter-final series in the Glen Cairn Men's Fastball League playoffs have been played this week after last week's rain.
Vance's Service Centre won over Laurysen, Micksburg / Kool Vent Heat beat Upper Canada Elevators and KookiJar defeated Corfix. West End Landscapes has the bye and awaits the first round to be completed.
Game 2 of each series will be next week.

In Ashton Men's Fastball Playoff action, the NAPA
Shockers will face the Ashton Farmers in the second game of the best of
three "A" final tonight at 9 p.m. NAPA won game one 9-3.
The second game of the "B" final will be played at 7 p.m. The Brewers lead the A's after winning 17-5 last week.

After delay due to Men's nationals, the Greater Ottawa Fastball League best of three semi-finals get started tonight.
In the East division, the Manotick Brewers host the Kars Aces tonight at 8 p.m. at the Manotick Arena diamond. Game 2 will be next Wednesday September 14 at 8 p.m., same diamond.
The West division semi starts Thursday with Micksburg Twins hosting Quyon Flyers at 8 p.m. Game 2 will be scheduled soon.

In the Fitzroy Harbour Men's Fastball League playoffs, Baird Carpentry advanced to the Harbour Ball Final with a big win over Clean Cut Construction last week to sweep their series two games straight.
In the other semi-final, the second game was paused due to rain in the sixth, with Bren Electric leading 8-6 over West Carleton Electric. The game will be resumed tonight at 8 p.m. from the point at which it was paused. If the Jr. Trics come back to win, they will advance to the Final. If Bren wins game two, game three will be played immediately following to determine Baird's opponent in the Final.

The four-team Shawville Men's Fastpitch League got their playoffs underway last night. The SMFL usually plays on Mondays, but with the long weekend, things got started on a Tuesday.
The format for the playoffs is a double knockout with single game final.

Lyn Lightning won game one of the North Leeds Men's Fastball League playoff final best of three series last night with a tight 5-4 victory over the North Augusta Trappers.
Carley Shane had the win, getting nine strikeouts. Jamie Finucan was the losing pitcher and he struck out seven. Finucan also hit a home run for N.A.
Word is that game two is scheduled for Thursday at 8 p.m. in North Augusta.

The Maitland Bandits were the "A" champs at the eight team annual Labour Day tournament in North August this weekend. Maynard were the "B" champs.
Most Valuable Player was Luke Meppelder, Best Pitcher was Kyle McNamara and Best Catcher was Chris Finucan.

The Durk Sherman Classic was held over Labour Day weekend in Elkland, PA featured seven teams this year, but the championship was unfortunately washed out as heavy rains arrived on Sunday night and on Monday.
The top two teams Professional Petro and Mansfield Mounties were playing on Sunday night to see who would go directly to the Final when their game was rained out in the fourth. They were declared co-champions.
West Carleton Electric was the lone Canadian team at the event. WC defeated the HighBallers 7-0 and the Clippers 7-1, but lost to Pro Petro 8-1 and to ESA, the host team, 7-2.

The Niagara Stompers won bronze at the Men's Nationals in St. John's, NL on the weekend. Matt Greer (Quyon), Joran Graham (Micksburg), Gregg Garrity and Brad Pender (Kars) from the Greater Ottawa Fastball League all play for Niagara.
The Stompers fell in the semi-final 9-1 to the Toronto Batmen, eventual silver medalists in a game on Sunday. The defending champions from Newfoundland, the Galway Hitmen won gold with a 4-1 victory in the final.
